The World’s Largest Environmental Movement | International Earth Day

Saturday 22nd of April 2023, marks International Earth day, the world’s largest civic event, bringing together over 1 billion people and 190+ countries!

It is a day dedicated to raising awareness about the wide range of environmental challenges our planet faces. The day also reminds us to not only raise awareness, but take action in ensuring a cleaner, healthier, and greener feature for all.

In 2023, the theme of Earth day continues on from 2022’s theme to “Invest in Our Planet”, encouraging companies, governments, and individuals around the world to make an active effort to improve our planet, slow down the negative effects of climate change, and therefore ensure a better and safer future for all, current and future generations.

Quantum continuously strives to join the millions around the world making an active effort in protecting our planet and ensuring a cleaner future from our tree planting initiative ‘Saving the Climate, One Tree at a Time’, to our fleet of all EV delivery vans.

Our tree planting initiative, in partnership with Ecologi, allows us to plant a tree for every sale, with no additional cost to our customers, in order to hep offset the carbon footprint associated with each sale. Since its launch in 2021, we are proud to have planted over 25,000 trees!

But it doesn’t stop there, in 2020, we made a bold switch to a fleet of all EV delivery vans, with the goal being to be exclusively electric by 2030, using zero petrol or diesel for all deliveries. This would allow us to reduce our fossil fuel reliance as fossil fuel has a lasting negative effect on not only our planet, but its inhabitants. To fully grasp the impact fossil fuels have, they are responsible for over 0.3C of the 1-degree Celsius rise in global average temperatures, making them the largest source of global temperature increase.

You too can make little changes to your lifestyle and contributions to the environmental movement such as:

  • Volunteer for cleaning up your community
  • Plant a tree
  • Change certain habits – walk, cycle, or car share; use re-usable bags; a refillable water bottle in place of plastic bottles;
  • utilize green energy sources for your home (or at least consider it).
  • Join the Great Global Cleanup!
  • Switch your old bulbs for the more energy-efficient, cost-effective and lost-lasting LED bulbs… speak to one of our representatives who can guide you in making that switch.

So, what will you be doing this year to help ensure a cleaner, greener, and safer planet?
